Vocalia consort12/17/2023 ![]() The concert of Saturday, June 7th will host the Vocal de Camara Platense, a popular choral group that will enchant the audience with a charming and refined selection of sacred contemporary music from Argentina plus the Mass for double choir by the Swiss composer Frank Martin. Among the authors proposed, Dunstable, Dufay, Schütz and the contemporary Moody, Elias and Keller. On the opening night, the renowned vocal sextet Singer Pur will present a program dedicated to the Song of Songs, interesting exhibition of antique and contemporary pieces composed on one of the most lyrical texts of all sacred scriptures. ![]() This edition sees the participation of two vocal groups from Germany and a choir from Argentina and gives much space to the sacred music of the twentieth century. The fifth edition of the International Festival of Sacred Chant is divided over three days: Friday 6, Saturday 7 and Sunday 8 June 2014, with concerts at 9 pm. In the various editions of the festival have performed some of the most important choirs at international level, including the Consortium Vocale Oslo (Norway), Vokalna Akademija Ljubljana (Slovenia), the Viktoria Kamarakorus (Hungary), the Liepzig Calmus Ensemble (Germany), Ars Cantica Choir (Milan), the Italian Youth Choir (Italy), the Collegium of Music in Tallinn (Estonia), Vocalia Consort (Italy) and Philip Lawson (England), the Gothic Voices (England) and the Children's Choir of the Teatro dell'Opera di Roma (Italy). ![]() The International Festival of Sacred Chant, organized by the Centro Culturale Aracoeli and by Vocalia Consort, is a unique musical event that takes place every year in June in the Basilica of Santa Maria in Aracoeli, offering the city evenings of choral music in one of the most symbolic places of Rome, crossroads of history, culture and spirituality.
